Christmas Fair at Zurich Main Station & ShopVille
More than 160 decorated market booths inspire holiday gift shoppers with ideas, and passersby delight in the scent of freshly baked cookies, roasted nuts and almonds and in the rich palette of colors and shapes. It is a true feast for the senses, enjoyable irrespective of the wintry weather. The Christmas market is just the place for young and old to relax and enjoy the season for a few hours.

The Christmas market in the old city center is the most traditional and oldest Christmas market. The streets in the old town provide the ideal backdrop for this romantic Christmas market.

New Year’s Eve Firework Display
From 8 pm to 3 am on New Year’s Eve, Lake Zurich and the upper Limmat River provide one of the most attractive festival settings in Switzerland. 150,000 or more people show up to be enthralled by New Year’s Eve party. The highlight of the event is the fantastic fireworks display to ring in the New Year, which is set off from two ships on the lake.
